Venting

I just wanted to take this opportunity to vent my frustration with the scale! I have been a very very good girl and have been working out daily. Occasionaly I take a day off to let my body rest....also I have been really good eating wise, I have been staying around 1300 cailories daily. I think I feel my body perhaps "firming" up a little bit but the darn scale isn't budging in numbers...... I think I am going to lengthen the time of my cardio workout and see if that helps. Any advice????

Take your measurements! you're likely getting smaller and your muscles may be retaining water b/c they're repairing themselves. Just DON'T STOP! Also, change your workout to something different to target a different major muscle group. Your body learns the new exercise and conditions itself to it so change the routine and the muscles you're using. Just tell yourself you know you're going to come to a day soon where you'll drop a lot at once! My body loses nothing, then drops.

Take a great big whopping hammer and beat the shit out of the scales - won't help move them but will make you feel better :)
Seriously, it could be just as RC said: you might be losing inches instead of weight but oh, how painful that is when those scales refuse to budge. Maybe shake things up darl, do something different exercise wise, change your food etc.. see if this helps. Fingers crossed next time you get on those "by now broken" sales they have moved.

Oh how frustrating! It's the worst when you're exercising and get nothing in return(seemingly). I think RC is right, try some measurements also you may have a big week next week.
Hang in there!

Look for non-scale victories wherever you can. Think of the scale as your short-term enemy but long-term friend. Use it sparingly.

Hi,

Get a Word document and put your weight at the top of it, day one, morning weight right after you get up. For the next five days, write down everything you are eating and the times. Then write down every stitch of exercise and the calories burned (I like to use a treadmill because it is somewhat accurate). At the end of five days, on the morning of day six, weigh again (first thing in the AM) and put it down on the Word document. Then email to me at Dicksdiet@comcast.net. I will give you my advice when I get it.

Regards, Dick
