Feeling Defeated

I don't usually write about feeling defeated but I think it's important for new bandsters to know that it's not all fun and games all the time after being banded. I've heard countless people say that loosing those last few lbs is the hardest and boy are they right. The last year all I have done is basically go up and down the same 10lbs time and time again. I'm not sure what to change in order to move the scale. I refuse to give up but I'm feeling a little lost!

I've been working out consistently for the past few months. I aim for 5 days per week but even if I am really busy that week I never let more than 1 day go in between working out. The only thing I know I need to work on is my water intake, but I also know just doing that alone won't help me loose these last few lbs. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? I'll take any at all!  =)

Are you journaling all of your food choices? Just an idea :-)

Have you discussed with your Doc? Perhaps you are about as low as your body can go. Do you have extra skin that you may consider removing? Just a few thoughts.

The last ones are the hardest, for sure. Journaling is a good idea. Checking with your doc is also a good idea. If most of your weight is lean mass, you may be where you need to be already.

You have done amazing things with the band!! I am sure that perhaps the number in your head is not the number that perhaps your body thinks you should be!

Just keep that one in mind!

Bre,
Do you have a nutritionist available through your doctor? They should absolutely have that available.. if not I bet you can call my surgeon's office and speak to his nutritionist. He's awesome..

I was having a problem with my weight being stalled and Kyle told me that you can be doing everything perfectly and your body gets used to it... so you should up your calories by 3-400 calories with supplement drinks (Like muscle milk for me) and keep your exercise routine the same...

Journaling your food and keeping hydrated is the best way to see what you are really really doing but sometimes even when you are doing everything right your body disagrees. You need to give it a little more energy (calories) to get what you need from it. Remember not to be stuck on a number on the scale but pay attention to how your clothes fit... Muscle is denser than fat, you could weigh more but still be getting smaller... big picture.... good luck :)
