Update
So I have been away for a few days trying to figure this all out. Everything I ate for about the first 3 or 4 days was hurting like crazy and I was wondering what was going on! Finally I think I have figured it out. So long as I chew really really well, and eat very slow I seem to be just fine. The moment I forget either one of those things, watch out! I am down to 228lbs that is a 24lb loss which makes me 3lbs away from my first goal! I am so excited! It has taken a bit longer than I thought it was going to, but I am okay with that. I feel great, and that is all that matters to me! Thanks for reading guys, let me know how you all are doing too!

I am so happy for you. I agree that you have to remember to eating slowly and chew very well. That is the hardest thing for me to do. When I am with friends and talking and such I forget that I am banded and take a big mouthful or don't chew really well and OUCH!! But aren't the results wonderful>??
The adjustment is weird- especially with friends as kathy said, so easy to get distracted.
You are doing great, so glad this has resolved for you.
It's a steep learning curve. This way of eating isn't instinctual to any of us and frankly, some of the things we do are counter intuitive, so it's easy to make mistakes. (and oh how we pay for them!). But you are doing great and thanks for the reminder to chew well, slowly and often!
See I'm not at that point yet but I think I will be early next week. I'm going Fri for my 3rd fill and so far (knock on wood) I have not pb'd and only had chicken stuck once (after first fill) b/c I was talking and eating fast. So I'm assuming my pace and amount of chewing is fine b/c I do have restriction w/ that last 2nd fill. So, 3rd fill, I'm expecting more restriction and possibly some problems w/ foods b/c I haven't yet.
Be careful lady! I'd hate for ya to go through the pain of being "stuck" b/c it isn't fun. I try to not be distracted when I eat or I totally don't focus on chewing well enough!!!
How exciting to be just a smidge away from your first goal!! Love it. You are doing wonderfully and yet, now the fun really starts with eating slow and chewing well. Just keep your focus and watch those pounds melt off. x
Congrats!! Isn't it funny how hard headed we are at such a simple combination of chewing and slowing down. I can't tell you how many times i was told that was the key from my doctor, nurses, on the discussion boards etc. Eventually I had to learn, do and understand. it must be something everyone has to learn by trial!!

I'm so happy for you that you're finally feeling some restriction! I'm still waiting for that :( Thanks for talking about how that felt because honestly, I've been waiting for that feeling and still have never gotten it. Keep us posted!
