Tripod Effect

I've come to realize that the Lap Band alone will not help you meet your weight loss goals. I'm sure many of you have realized this as well. The Lap Band is only one side to the Tri Pod.

A more active lifestyle combined with healthier eating habits are essential if you want to be successful long term.

Currently I feel like I am only leaning on one leg of the tri pod, that being the Active Lifestyle leg. Yes I have the Lap Band but I need a fill badly! I can't wait because I have one tomorrow! I must get on board with eating healthier now.

I'm not much of a cook, I'm sort of a grab and go kind of gal. I need to work on more at home food preparation. I'm still working on reducing my dreaded coffee in take, anyone have any suggestions for cutting down?

I think I am going to cook scallops for dinner tomorrow, I love scallops. I am going to go on food network and see if I can find some good recipes. If you know of one, please let me know! =)

Ok.. love your post. very cool effects and your right.. all three things go together.. that is why the tripod is a solid piece of equipment..

I completely cut out coffee about a month ago. I found with a really good fill level it is hard to get my 8 glasses of water in with my cup and a half of coffee, so I sacrificed the coffee for an additional bottle of water. It sucked for a week and a half ish, but then it was worth it!

Very true. The lapband alone will not do the trick. Hope you have a good fill.

Do you drink the coffee because you like it or because you need the caffeine? If it's cause you want the caffeine to wake up, maybe talk to your doc about adding b-12 in the morning? Since starting b-12 I have not felt the need to drink coffee. Just a thought.

i like the tripod idea...I never seem to get all three at the same length ever :) always tipping from side to side.

love the visual!

I love scallops as well. so yummy. I cook them with garlic and just sear them a little on each side. I used to eat them with pasta but I put them with spagetti squash and mushrooms now they are so yummy!

The tripod effect is so true! There are days that I try to rely on just the band alone and there are the good days when I get in healthy eating and exercise too, but I always know I have my band!

I love the tripod theory. I was just talking to my husband last night about how the lapband is not the easy way to lose weight that people say it is but you have to eat right and workout too. Great post.
