Ouchiewowa!

After my free work out session at Get In Shape for Woman I was inspired to get into circuit training so I went out and bought myself a DVD. I decided on Jackie Warner's Power Circuit Training video.

The DVD includes multiple work outs:
  • One 40 minute workout for the whole body
  • One 15 minute workout for the whole body
  • One 15 minute workout for the upper body
  • One 15 minute workout for the lower body
  • One 15 minute workout for the abs
So far so good I absolutely love it! Let me tell you what I am doing. I'm doing it six days a week and I'm doing the 15 minute upper one day, followed by the 15 minute lower the next day, and then the abs the day after that. Then I repeat that and then take the 7th day off.

Now I have been doing Pilate's for years so let me just compare these two for you.......OUCHIEWOWA!!! lol Pilate's are awesome don't get me wrong but I've been doing it for so long that they just aren't "advanced" enough for me at this point I guess. Jackie's lower body workout was hardcore!! You know you do so many exercise where they say "this is really good for the gluts" but I personally never feel anything in my butt....BUT man o man my rear was sore for days! lol Then she had some exercises for the abs that were just awesome! My abs are still sore today and it's been 2 days since I did it. I am however going to get some 8lb weights today because I am not feeling anything in my arms with the 5lb weights I have been using. She says in the DVD that you should be feeling a burn and apparently my arms are pretty strong because I just don't feel much.

So if you can't tell overall I LOVE this DVD and I totally recommend it. It was only $10.09 at target and all you need it some free weights.

Lastly I think I am going to change my goal weight to a range of 125lbs-135lbs. I am starting to accept (because more than 1 professional has told me so) that 125lbs is unrealistic for my body frame...but I'm unwilling to take it off the table completely at this time lol.

Sounds brutal, but good for you! And 15 minutes is not an unreasonable commitment, especially when you can do it at home.

You look great, btw.

I love hardcore workouts that you can do quickly. At home. Good on you, I am just getting back into Pilates and hopefully once I get mor eof my core and upper body strength back from that I will graduate to a program like the one you're doing ;-)
