Fitting Room Fun

I knew that New York & Co. was having a sale so I wanted to go get some jeans in the next size down so that I had them when my current jeans start to fall off. When I got there I grabbed a 10 & 12 off the shelf and headed to the fitting room. My logic behind this was......the last time I bought bottoms from there I bought 12's so I figured the 10's would be a little snug and I would end up buying those, wrong. The 10's were loose! What???? So I went and grabbed a pair of 8's.

Now, let me pause and tell you something here before I continue. Size 8 has been my dream size my entire life, my whole life! I have always thought "maybe someday I could get to an 8 and I will be so so happy." Now I will continue.....

As I went back into the fitting room and I slid the 8's on they felt really good but I didn't think I could zip and button them. I slid the zipper up and closed the button and I could breathe, had no muffin top, they fit like a glove! What? They were a perfect fit, like I could have bought them and wore them to church today. Am I in a dream or something, this feels like a dream?

The whole purpose of my trip was to get a pair that were too snug because right now I have a pair that fit perfectly. So I grabbed a pair of the 6's, didn't try them on because I was sure they didn't come close to fitting and went home. When I got home I decided to give them a go, just to figure out how much I will have to loose before they will fit. To my surprise (again), I was able to zip and button them but this time they were very tight and I had a muffin top haha but I can't believe I could squeeze myself into them!!

My life is truly starting to change, this feels surreal. When I was trying the 8's on in the fitting room I took some pics for fun and to share with you! Enjoy! =)

I ve been waiting for this day....

Besides the day I hit my goal, I have been waiting for this day since before my surgery. When I was 16yrs old I had just finished weight watchers and reached 159lbs which is the smallest to date that I have EVER been in my "adult" body.

This morning I stepped on the scale with no exceptions of moving very much, I was 160.8 when I stepped on the scale yesterday morning. Well I must have been retaining some water or something yesterday because this morning I hit 159lbs even!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wicked awesome and I am still in disbelief. I cannot believe I am 159lbs again, I feel amazing. I didn't do any jumping up and down or anything like I thought I would, instead I just kind of sighed a sigh of relief and smiled. lol.

This has been an amazing journey. Now begins the really interesting part of this journey for me because I don't know what I look like any smaller than this and I cannot wait to see what that is when I finally hit my goal! =)

I had a physical today, ironically and my doctor was so so excited about my 93lbs weight loss because she sees a lot of WLS patients who aren't successful. Yay to being successful!

All you have to do is keep at it, be patient and remember this is a lifestyle not a diet! =) Thanks for all your support and encouragement. You are all the best!

Wednesday Weigh In

Last Wednesday's Weight: 161lbs
This Wednesday’s Weight: 160lbs

Movement! I must have did something right this week. =)

Although I did not set out to do everything I had outlined last week, I made some really nice improvements. I didn’t get to my 100 ounces of water everyday, I think just one day. Most days I was able to get in 60-80 ounces so I am really happy with that.

I did OK with healthy snacking, not as good as I would have liked. Eating a yogurt everyday around 10:30ish has been working out great for me! However, my afternoon fruit snack has not been working. Lots of fruits are too fibrous and are really hard for me to eat. I am going to have to come up with another alternative in addition to the few fruits I can eat.

As the crap removal goes, I feel I did pretty good when comparing this week to the last month or so. I had a little chocolate but no cheetos, that was hard for me lol. I also was able to only drink one coffee each day. Well, I think maybe one day I had two, but I got a smaller one the second time!!

I also went for a 30 minute walk at least 4 days this week! The first time I have put effort forth in a while and it felt so good!

Things I want to further improve upon this week, and things I want to keep from last week…..

• Try 80 ounces of water each day instead of aiming for 100
• Continue my yogurt at 10:30AM each day
• Continue one coffee per day
• 30 minutes of cardio 5 days
• Jackie Circuit Training 3 days
• Don’t eat at anywhere that has a drive thru
• No eating past 8:30PM

Keep your fingers crossed for me, I will let you know how it goes! =)

Wednesday Weigh In, ect......

Last Wednesday's Weight: 161lbs
This Wednesday’s Weight: 161lbs

Hi Everyone!

Sad to say, but no movement again this week. It's okay though because I have a plan! Let me rewind to say that today I am finally starting to feel a little better, I was sick all weekend. Monday night I even went to the Urgent Care at Lahey I felt so ill. The doctor called me yesterday and said all my test came back fine though so I must just have a virus of some sort. I still feel odd today, my head is kind of dizzy feeling and I'm very tired but nothing like I felt over the weekend!

Back to my plan......I was reading someones blog (sorry I cannot recall who because I read so many, please give yourself credit in the comments if you read this) and they were saying how they were going back to basics doing the following:
  • Water:  at least 100 ounces a day.
  • Snacking:  When I got's to snack, I am going to have healthy options available.
  • Crap removal:  If the food I am about to put in my mouth doesn't have nutritional value...energy, fiber, protein, etc...I am going to try and reconsider eating it.
  • Pop/Soda:  I can only have a diet drink after I have drank at least 60 ounces of water.
  • Beer/Wine:  None for 3 weeks.

Now I am taking that list and personalizing it to me!
  • Water:  at least 100 ounces a day.
  • Snacking:  When I got's to snack, I am going to make a healthy choice like fruit.
  • Crap removal:  If the food I am about to put in my mouth doesn't have nutritional value...energy, fiber, protein, etc...I am going to try and reconsider eating it.
  • Coffee:  I can have my 1 coffee per day so long as I have already had 20oz of water prior.
  • Chocolate & Cheetos:  None for 4 weeks (yes I know weird combo but I've been addicted to both lately.)

So I have decided that since I cannot eat early in the morning I am going to have my coffee around 8:30 and around 10:30 I am going to have a yogurt. At 12:30ish I will eat lunch and at 3:30 have a piece of fruit. Dinner will be around 6:30 and if I must have a snack after that it will be before 8PM. I am cutting food off after 8PM. No more before bedtime eating. This is going to be really hard for me just so you know. =)

I also thought it would be a good idea to stop weighing myself everyday. I don't remember the last time I skipped  a day. I already weighed myself this Wednesday and I am not going to do it again until next Wednesday.

Let's see how this goes!

NSV

I wanted to take a moment to share an NSV with you. This actually happened a week or two ago and I kept meaning to tell you, and then I forgot!!!

Many of you are familiar with Lane Bryant and their jean sizing but I will give an overview so that I don’t loose those of you who are not. They don’t have your typical 14/16, 18/20, 22/24, and so on jean sizes, instead they run 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ect. At my largest I was wearing the size 5 which I am pretty sure is the equivalent to a 22/24 and at this time I also worked briefly at Lane Bryant.

While I would fold the jeans I would dream about the day I might wear the size 1 (if ever), and I remember holding them up thinking “gosh these are so tiny!” Well, a while back Lane Bryant revamped their jeans and tweaked the sizing again. I was not such a huge fan of the new sizing so I bought one pair of jeans in every size smaller than I was so that I had them. It seems like forever now I have been in between sizes. The 2’s were on the verge of being too big but I could not really squeeze myself into the 1’s comfortably just yet. Haha so what I did was wear those spanx tanks to hold my paints up!!!

Anyway, I could not take the baggy 2’s any longer so I tried on the 1’s and VUALA they fit!!!! That’s my magic trick for this post! lol

Wednesday Weigh In

Last Wednesday's Weight: 161lbs
This Wednesday’s Weight: 161lbs

No changes this week! I’m not surprised because I am on a no exercise down spiral. I am seriously struggling to find motivation and I cannot figure out what is going on it my head!

I think my goal has just slipped my mind perhaps. I have 23lbs to go! If I can loose just one little lb per week I can hit my goal just before Christmas! That would be nice, in a perfect world! That is what I will aim for but I’m not going to beat myself up over it if it does not happen.

I’m going back to the basics for food. No more take out ect. I’ve been bringing my lunch to work and making dinner when I get home. I’m trying really hard to stop getting coffee on the way to work as well. We have a Keurig at work so I am trying to use that when I get here instead. So far so good, I hope I can keep this up!

Wednesday Weigh In

Last Wednesday's Weight: 163lbs
This Wednesday’s Weight: 161lbs

I've officially hit the 90lbs lost mark!! I'm 91lbs down now to be exact!
Holy cow, that is so much weight!! I don't know, when I hit the 80's it didn't feel as big as 90 sounds to me. Wow. I'm kind of in awe.

How are you guys doing? The craziness of life has kept me away from blogging as much as I want and I miss you all!! =)

Oh guess what!!!? My husband and I are trying to buy a house!!! Well, a townhouse. We put in our offer yesterday!! I am so wicked excited. It is a short sale though so it will be a really long time before we hear anything. They are using a negotiator so that will take like 45 days they said and then assuming they just accept the offer and there is no more negotiating the price (haha ya right) then it is 30 days to close from there. So, we are looking at like some time in September. We are perfectly fine with that though, it gives us more time to save up $$!!!

Ohhhh you know what I just thought of!!? Only 5 more lbs before I hit my next short term goal of 156lbs! Holy cow!!! Life is good! =)
