Happy New Year!

Hi All! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! Any good plans for New Years??

I wanted to update you on my progress of cutting out the 5 C's (coffee, chocolate, chips, cake, candy).

Let's break it down..........

Coffee
Typically I would say I have anywhere from 200mg - 300mg of caffeine per day. Today I had 60mg this morning, so I feel I am doing very well at weaning myself off of it. Everyday I have a little less. I plan on dropping it all together by this Thursday, fingers crossed.

Chocolate
Not too shabby here, I've had it a couple times but not in the quantity I am use to. I have not had any today and I'm hoping I can make it through the day without any.

Chips
Totally not remembering chips was on my list I have had them a few times.

Cake
I have not had any cake, I actually passed on the ice cream cake for my dads birthday.

Candy
I can't recall have any candy.

All in all I think I did pretty well. I need to focus on getting rid of the coffee 100% I feel before I can completely eliminate everything else but for once this doesn't feel impossible. =)

Happy New Year!

The 5 Cs......

I’ve come to realize that I am addicted to the 5 C’s……

  • Coffee
  • Chocolate
  • Chips
  • Cakes
  • Candy
A whole lot of CRAP. I’ve been stressed this month and when I am stressed I eat more, like a lot of us but I don’t just eat more food, I eat more of this stuff. No wonder why I’ve been struggling lately.  I feel like I need to go on a detox, something has to happen cause I can’t keep putting this junk into my body. Everything but the coffee I am starting right now because I feel like after a few days I won’t have cravings for these things anymore. I am going to start cutting down the amount of coffee I drink right now but am not going to cut it out completely until next week. I have 4 ½ days in a row off work so I feel like that is a good time to come off the coffee so I don’t feel like crap at work and I can take a nap when I am really feeling the caffeine withdrawal.

Ironically today is 2 ½ years since my surgery, my how time fly’s by! I have 20lbs more to go until goal so that is just under 3.5lbs per month, super doable! I’m very excited about hitting my goal in 2012!!!  =)

Wednesday Weigh In

Last Wednesday's Weight: 158lbs
This Wednesday’s Weight: 158lbs

I started doing my Jackie Warner Circuit Training again and boy am I sore. Sunday I did the lower body which to me is the hardest and my legs are still killing me! Correct me if I am wrong but don't your muscle hold onto water when you start working them again? I think I heard that or read that somewhere. That on top of other things that happen every now and them ;) I am not too upset with staying at 158lbs, I'm actually happen! 156lbs next week, fingers crossed!

This month has been busy for me but its pretty much all coming to an end this weekend. Saturday night I am singing 2 songs for an annual Jazz concert that is held at my church. Sunday morning I am singing a song with the Choir backing me and then another solo. After that the only other singing engagement I have is Christmas Eve. Also, I can't recall if I told you but I am working with a couple of really talented song writers to come up with some original music. Another thing is I am now learning the piano so I am practicing that a lot too. So take singing, writing music, piano, and trying to loose weight = hard! lol. After the first of the year I am hoping I can get some focus back once things die down! I hope you are all not so busy so you can enjoy the holiday season!!

Thanks for your support!!  =)

Wednesday Weigh In

Last Wednesday's Weight: 160lbs
This Wednesday’s Weight: 158lbs

Sorry I am a day behind! December is always such a busy month for me, I’ve been loosing track of the days lately.

I am so excited that I lost the 2lbs that I had set goal for myself! I am starting to feel much better physically. My pants fit better again! =) This week I am aiming to loose another 2lbs and try and work out more than I did last week.  I am going to get at least 4 days of cardio for a minimum of 30 minutes.

It seems throughout the year I always forget how hard the holiday season is food wise. I wondering what most people’s average daily calorie intake is? If you don’t mind sharing, I would love to hear! Till next week!! =)

Wednesday Weigh In

This Wednesday’s Weight: 160lbs

When I stopped Wednesday Weigh in it was because I had hit the normal weight range and was loosing so slowly that it became sort of boring (for me at least) to post week after week about my stats that really had not changed. Now that I have GAINED 10lbs I feel that starting up Wednesday Weigh in is vital to my success again! It keeps me accountable and I think that is something that we all need.

So today I weigh in at 160, working for 158lbs next week. Falling off the band wagon is a tough pill to swallow but a good reality check for all of us. I read blogs all the time about people gaining and I always feel so bad but I really didn’t “get it” until now. I GET IT!! Now more than ever I feel completely experienced enough to say that if you fall off you can get back on, just get back on every time you fall off and you’ll do just fine!

Ok, that is enough of my Biggest Loser type speech lol. I hope you are all doing well!

Moment of truth..,

Hello!

I hope you all (in the US of course) had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I sure did.

Here is my moment of truth, the scale read 160lbs this morning. Am I shocked, no. I have been eating a lot since I had that 1cc taken out but Thankfully I had .5 put back in this past Monday which brings me back to 7.4cc. I would not say I have restriction but I am definitely feeling fuller than I was before, so I am very happy about that.

I'm feeling pretty down about the +10lbs but it is ok. I know I can get it back off. Now I am fully aware of just how much this band really helps me which you sort of forget after having such great restriction for so long. I'm not superwoman but my band sure is super lol. It pains me but I am going to readjust my stats so it reads 160lbs, man that is hard to do. I am a super denial kind of gal so I feel like if I do this is will be a real reality check for me. Blah. lol Oh well like I said I will get it back off I am not too worried. Here's hoping most of it is water haha.

Back to the gym time....

Hey Everyone!!

I know, I know I am a little bit of a ghost lately. Basically, it has been because I’m frustrated. The only thing I have keeping my spirits up is that I have a fill next Monday the 21st. Hallelujah!!

I went to a wedding this weekend, good time! However, I ate so much! I feel awful from it. I have gained a few lbs which is making me feel awful too. I’m not concerned about a few lbs because they will come back off but the way I feel from the few lbs is what is making me feel gross, my clothes are a little snug feeling.

I packed all my workout clothes and I am going to the gym right after work today. My goal is to get back to 150lbs by the end of this year which is a small goal because I know how hard it is to loose during the Holiday season!!

Getting Better

Thank you for all your encouraging words, they were very helpful!! All week long I have actually done really well tracking my calorie intake. I have not exceeded 1,500 each day. Monday I had 1,445......Tuesday I had 1,395.....and Wednesday I had 1,485. It's funny I know it has only been a few days but it gets a little easier as each day goes by.

I have not been doing cardio but I am working my upper body out a lot. I know that is playing a part with my silly scale. It's weird because I finally don't have that fat feeling anymore but the scale still went up?? I don't get it. I'm not too concerned though because if I just give it time it always comes back down! =)

Feeling Fat & Afraid

I have to admit I feel fat. I know you are probably rolling your eyes……let me explain. Since my -1cc I’ve been able to basically eat the world and that is what I’ve been doing. I’m shocked at how little self control I have been able to tap into. I have not even stepped on the scale because I am afraid. Afraid!!!!!

Well enough is enough I have to exercise and listen to my body and not eat when it’s not hungry! This is proving really hard, but I feel extremely determined. I know this is a quick little post, I just wanted to keep you updated!

Late Night Eating

Late night eating has felt like it is controlling me lately. It might not be late night technically since I am talking about eating up until 9PM but seeing I go to bed around 9:30PM, it’s pretty late for me. I eat really well all day long and go home from work with a good amount of calories left for the day but after I eat dinner I just go on a food craze! I am not hungry after I eat dinner but I have this constant urge to eat one thing after another no matter how big or small. It doesn’t even matter if I am full I just want to put something in my face, and the band didn’t fix my head just the size of my stomach. Fixing my head is up to me I am truly starting to realize.

The whole time I have been banded I have let the band do the work. I have made sure that I am nice and tight so that I cannot eat things I shouldn’t or eat the amounts I want and I have not made any other significant changes. I do work out but nothing hardcore, really I do the bare minimum. I am especially worried now that I am not in the Green Zone that I will either not loose weight or gain if I continue this way. I feel like it is time to start using my head more like 60% of the time and my band 40% instead of it being the other way around. Actually right now I am probably using my band around 70% of the time and head 30% of the time.

I have a few ideas as to how to start this change and the first is to tackle the late night eating. Starting today my goal is to eat dinner at 6:30 and finish by 7:00 and have one snack after that but by 8:00 at the latest. I am just going to go to bed if I cannot control myself because I have no other choice I have to nip this bad habit. I am also focusing on my nutrition more, making sure I get more protein. Today is my second day without a Starbucks drink and man so I want one, but I keep telling myself I will be okay! I have to eliminate these very high calorie drinks because they are killing me.

If anyone has any pointers for how to control Head Hunger, please send them my way as I could use all the help I can get!  =)

Lots of Updates!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a few things to cover in this post first is I went for an unfill today. The .1cc I got on Thursday we too much and I could drink a little but any solid food was just not going through. I tried to stick it out a couple of days thinking that maybe my hormones were playing tricks on me and it would get better but it did not. I had 7.8cc's in my band before the fill and the doctor I saw today said that the whole 7.8 probably was not in my band, some of it was probably stuck in the tubing. He went on to say that when the nurse practitioner took everything out and then inserted it again with the addition .1cc more of that probably made it to the band this time so it felt like way more than just a .1cc adjustment. This makes perfect sense to me because I was really really perplexed that .1 would make me feel so darn restricted.  The forced me to remove a whole cc, I begged them not to but they really want to so bummer I am at 6.9cc's now and can eat whatever pretty much.

This brings me to another thing I was to talk about in this post. For the past 2 years and 4 months I have not worked on my nutrition very much. I have basically ate what I have wanted but in moderation. I am actually not super update about being at 6.9cc now because I can focus on eater better and healthier. I need to cut out the chocolate (I've been addicted) and I need to scale down on the amount of Starbucks drinks I am getting as those are my two major drugs of choice lol. I seem to always have a fill debacle don't I?

On a good note...... I have accomplished 2 things at once!!! 1) I have lost 102lbs!!!! 2) I am in the NORMAL WEIGHT CATEGORY!!! Can you flippin' believe it?????  I mean to loose 100lbs is like the equivalent to a 10 year old I think, insane! When I got the surgery I thought I would loose 100lbs much faster than I did now I am really thrilled that it took me longer because I have really enjoyed the journey and it made it so much more satisfying to loose it slowly. I have not been in the normal weight category for my height and age since I was probably 6 or 7 years old which I don't remember obviously.

I look in the mirror and I definitely do not see a skinny person, I am not sure that I ever will but I'm not upset with what I see either I really like the way I look. I'm not sure I will ever see myself as skinny but I do feel bones on myself that I have never felt before and see them as well which is really cool. In my brain I know this definitely makes me a "skinny" person I guess but I have such body dis morphia that I just can't say that about myself.  Maybe someday I will see it!Finally being able to say I have lost 100lbs makes me feel hopeful for the first time that I can actually reach my goal!!!
