Doing Circles in the Kitchen

I’m trying very hard to loose 2lbs per week and to accomplish that I have to have a calorie deficit of 1000 everyday. Last night around 9pm I had reached the max calories I could consume for the day and was absolutely not hungry one bit, I was actually full. However, my head hunger was starving!!! I went into the kitchen and opened every cabinet, every drawer and the refrigerator at least 2 times each hoping I would find something. Thank goodness there was nothing that really appealed to me because it made it easier to walk away. Even though I was able to walk away, food in general was still calling my name so I turned on my lap top and went as fast as I could to get into the chat room at Lapbandtalk.com to create myself a distraction. Thankfully that really helped. Head hunger is such a nuisance. I’ve tried to brush my teeth or paint my nails before but that does not work long enough for me. Going online and talking to people about lap band or looking people’s blogs, that is what really helps me, it refocuses me. Give it a shot next time your head hunger is acting up and you find yourself doing circles in the kitchen!!!

On another note quickly………..if you live in a New England State (MA, NH, ME, VT, RI, CT) can you shoot me an email at ladylapband@verizon.net just to let me know? I am attempting to put something together and when I have all the info I want to have everyone’s contact info so I can send it their way! Thanks!!!

Wednesday Weigh In

Last Wednesday's Weight: 167lbs
This Wednesday’s Weight: 167lbs

Hi everyone!!

I hope you had a great long Memorial Day weekend! Mine was jammed packed! Friday night, my husband and I went bowling. It was the first time in FOREVER and we had a lot of fun! Saturday my parents had a cookout, Sunday we ended up over at my in-laws where we had a fire and roasted marshmallows, and Monday I had a wedding to go to! Needless to say food was everywhere, and there was SO MUCH of it!! The scale actually went up a couple to just come back down to 167lbs today, I’m so thankful! I really have to watch not just the amount I take in at parties but my choices because I ate so many very salty things.

I am back on track though, more so than I have been in a long time! With the exception of yesterday ( I was not feeling so hot ) I have been committed to exercising everyday. I pulled out my bike this past weekend for the summer and it was so great to get back on it, I love my bike as I am sure a lot of you remember. I also figured out that if I start at the sidewalk right outside my house and go till it ends that equals .5 mile so to go to the end and back home is 1 mile. I walk it, run it, ride my bike, it has been great.

I’ve always thought this, but even more so in recent weeks……you don’t have to kill yourself with exercise, just be consistent!! It might take you longer to hit your goal but just eat well, drink lots of water, and work out for 15-30 minutes a day, just be consistent don’t make excuses. Anyone can find 15 minutes a day; bust out a mile in 15 minutes you can do it!!

You know the creators of Extreme Makeover Home Edition? Well, they came out with a new show, Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition. I recorded it and watched the 1st episode last night. The idea is, this trainer specializes in transformation and he chooses people to transform in 1 yr and in the hour long show you go from start to finish and see the transformation. I really liked it. The girl that was on the first show however, she was telling the trainer that if it was not for the opportunity to work with him that she was going to have to get Lap-Band®. This sort of rubbed me the wrong way I have to admit. She said it like it was a bad thing, like it was shameful almost.

Very few of us have the opportunity to live on campus, and get world class trainers that would cost $1000’s and $1000’s. If I had that chance I could have been just as successful as her no doubt, we all could but these people on these shows are like 1 in 1 million, they basically won the lottery. I don’t know what I am trying to say here really, the comment just made me feeling bad, like I did something wrong almost. I know I did not and I find there to be no reason for shame in making a choice for a healthier life. Does anyone else see where my feelings might steam from here, or am I over reacting??
