Ouchiewowa!

After my free work out session at Get In Shape for Woman I was inspired to get into circuit training so I went out and bought myself a DVD. I decided on Jackie Warner's Power Circuit Training video.

The DVD includes multiple work outs:
  • One 40 minute workout for the whole body
  • One 15 minute workout for the whole body
  • One 15 minute workout for the upper body
  • One 15 minute workout for the lower body
  • One 15 minute workout for the abs
So far so good I absolutely love it! Let me tell you what I am doing. I'm doing it six days a week and I'm doing the 15 minute upper one day, followed by the 15 minute lower the next day, and then the abs the day after that. Then I repeat that and then take the 7th day off.

Now I have been doing Pilate's for years so let me just compare these two for you.......OUCHIEWOWA!!! lol Pilate's are awesome don't get me wrong but I've been doing it for so long that they just aren't "advanced" enough for me at this point I guess. Jackie's lower body workout was hardcore!! You know you do so many exercise where they say "this is really good for the gluts" but I personally never feel anything in my butt....BUT man o man my rear was sore for days! lol Then she had some exercises for the abs that were just awesome! My abs are still sore today and it's been 2 days since I did it. I am however going to get some 8lb weights today because I am not feeling anything in my arms with the 5lb weights I have been using. She says in the DVD that you should be feeling a burn and apparently my arms are pretty strong because I just don't feel much.

So if you can't tell overall I LOVE this DVD and I totally recommend it. It was only $10.09 at target and all you need it some free weights.

Lastly I think I am going to change my goal weight to a range of 125lbs-135lbs. I am starting to accept (because more than 1 professional has told me so) that 125lbs is unrealistic for my body frame...but I'm unwilling to take it off the table completely at this time lol.

Wednesday Weigh In

Last Wednesday’s Weight: 189lbs
This Wednesday’s Weight: 189lbs

I know this sounds a little funny, but I am totally thrilled with my results this week!

So we had that little evil weight gaining holiday called Halloween this past week and I gave in to my chocolate weakness  a bit. Halloween night I think I had 3 full size candy bars! What a cochon (pig in french) I am!! My Nana was french and always used that word so I use it all the time instead of saying pig lol. Plus, I only worked out yesterday and last Sat. at Get In Shape for Woman. So I am happy with maintaining seeing I thought I would have gained!

I am totally a morning person, I always wake up in a good mood but that doesn't mean I want to give up my sleep to get up early and go work out. I've been trying to talk myself into doing this for a LONG time now and it's just not happening. So what's a girl to do?? Well I have figured out that if I come home from work and eat dinner while watching TV....then I get lazy and don't work out so yesterday I decided I was going to go straight to work out as soon as I got home and then eat and it worked! I'm going to try that again tonight and see if it's something that will work for me long term because I really need something to start working. I am noticing at this point in my journey that I am only loosing when I am working out!

Do any of you have bad self esteem in your opinion?? I wish I could say that I didn't but if I'm being honest I'll let you in on a little secret...I have really bad self esteem and it all has to do with weight. I'm also one those people who really appreciates complements but never usually agrees with them lol. I don't want to turn into on of those annoying skinny people who think they are fat....anyone else ever have these emotions?
