I finally got a new job!! For those of you who didn't know for the past 2 years I have been a Receptionist for Lincoln Technical Institute part time and the hours were Mon-Thurs 4pm-8pm and Saturdays 9am-1am. YUCK! So sick of those hours, especially seeing me and my husband are on totally different schedules. We see each other on the weekends that is about it. So after a long time looking I found a new job, that is FULL TIME and with much better hours, 8:30-5:30 Monday through Friday. I am still going to be a Receptionist (gotta do what I love) and it is only 30 minutes from where I live. I am so excited!!!
I am a little concerned with work out time. Right now I am going to the gym for 1 hour per day. 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of 5 Weight Machines. I do get 1 hour for lunch which I could not possibly use a whole hour!! I was thinking perhaps I could walk for 30 minutes and then hit the gym when I get home for 30 minutes to do my machines. I don't know yet, I guess I will take one step at a time and try to figure it out. If anything, even if I don't get to work out as much I will be eating a lot less!!! Being home all day right now I eat a lot more out of boredom and what not so I am excited that I full time job will have me out of the house and preoccupied!!
I would LOVE any advice from any of you who are advanced in the act of juggling work and weight loss!!!
Oh and did I mention I love you guys!!!! You always say such nice things!! =)

Hi Breanne - congrats on the new job! I started slow on the exercise thing and do it three times a week for 30 minutes. I find that it's working for me and I'm able to fit it in. Eventually I'll open it up to more days, but it's the 30 minutes that is key for me. There are weeks that I'm working about 50-60 hours, so taking the time for exercise can be hard. 30 minutes three times a week seems manageable for me. Good luck!
Breanne, you can do this! Walk at lunch after you eat, it helps with disgestion and stress to the same. Also, I bring my workout clothes with me each day, I know that I am the type of person who has to stop on my way home. Once I go home, its harder to leave again. Congrats on the new job!
Hey chicky, I love walking at lunch when its nice out, but can't really do that in the city in the winter. I find it easiest to work out in the morning before work, if I wait till after work I always find an excuse not too. Wait it out until you start the job and get into the groove of your new schedule, you'll find something that works for you!
Hey, congrats on the new job. Sounds perfect for what you want and you are going to do great!
The exercise problem. Hmm.. I guess just get out whenever you get a chance. Walking is brilliant. You will find as you lose more you will become more active (and its fun!!) Good luck with everything.
Well congradulations on the new job! And way to go on finding the kind of job you want in this economy! It is super exciting! The way I juggle it is a workout less often, for longer times. I work M-THur and on Fri, Sat, and Sun I do anywhere to 1 1/2 hrs to 2 1/2 hrs at a time, maybe squeeze in a sauna if I have the time. That seems to work well for me for now. I am trying to squeeze in a Tue night...but still trying to juggle workout w/ school work. Just try a few diff things and see what works for you!
