NSVs

Hi my lovelies!!

How are you all doing?? It's a REALLY drab rainy Friday in Massachusetts. Yuck. I'm so glad it is Friday though because it has been a long work week. Any fun plans this weekend?? There is this farm in Litchfield, NH (I'm about a 3 minute drive to NH if you didn't know, I live right on the border) called Wilson's Farm and every October I go there to get my pumpkins. They have a huge barn as well loaded with fruits and veggies and all sorts of yummy things. It's a really fun place and I am going there this Sunday but that is my only plan this weekend so far.

So let's talk about some NSV's!!! I want to go back to a few posts ago when I told you I went down another jean size. I just wanted reiterate how wicked awesome it is to have jeans that aren't too tight, aren't too loose. They fit just right, like they were made for me. Really makes me feel like a million bucks when things fit like a glove.

Another thing......I bought a couple of new shirts the other day (no not at Lane Bryant lol), at jcpenney and they are a size Large!!!! I initially grabbed the XL and tried them on and yes they fit but they had a tiny bit of extra room so I figured I would try on the Large in each shirt. To my surprise I could actually get them down over my boobs hahahaha! I consider myself to be pretty modest in clothing so these shirts are a little snug compared to what I usually wear but still they fit! I bought them because I know it will only take like another 5-10lbs until I feel comfortable enough in them to wear them out! What a rockin' NSV!

Let me preface this last NSV a little...
I was watching The Biggest Loser. The very first show there were 3 people from each city and they had to complete in a challenge. The 1st two to finish, made it to the ranch and the other did not. In some of the cities the 3 potential contestants had to run a mile and this got me thinking. If these people who are in the worst shape of their life can run one mile before they have even make it to the ranch, why can't I? Why am constatnly telling myself that there is no way I can posibly do certain things??

So I decided to try and run a mile......and I did it!! Not only did I do it but I ran it in 12 minutes which I thought was a pretty good time! I am so super impressed with myself. This was Sunday that I did this and almost everyday since I've been working on my running and I am really enjoying it. I feel really good and accomplished after running.

The only thing I am concered with...I've noticed in the past that when I really start to work out hard I stop loosing for a little while. I don't know why that happens exactly but it seems to happen to me. Eventually it all evens out but it is a little frustrating. Has anyone else ever encountered this??

Congrats on your victories! That is really awesome. I can not imagine being a "L" with no X's in front of it! :) Way to go!

I've noticed the same thing about exercise. I finally committed myself to an exercise plan because I should and because it would help the weight come off faster, but it's kind of stalled things! I stay swollen from all the walking, which sucks... I guess it's a combination of swelling from walking and maybe building muscle tone up in my legs? I think that has negated my weight loss this week, which kind of sucks. It's so disheartening to exercise and be committed only to see the scale grudge your efforts. :(

wow great NSVs! I am still to scared to try a mile running even though I can do miles and miles on my bike...stupid really but I am still scared :).

I have not really done any exercise consistently enough to notice a scale stall but I have heard people say this before and been in discussion about it. I wonder if it is that you are gaining muscle mass and it takes a while for the weight shift to even out? I know muscle weighs more than fat.

Wow! Over 60 lbs! You are amazing! Yeah I work out and I also notice that when I stop working out and then start again, I dont lose right away. I do agree with people who say its because you build muscle which weighs more than fat. I dont know if its true or not;but if I didnt believe that I would totally cry lol

It is pretty normal to lose slowly or not at all when you start a new exercise regime. Your muscles retain water for a couple days after a work out.
